Jim Anixter & Bob Zywicki (both Anixter International veterans) launched AZ Wire & Cable in 1988. The partners identified an opportunity to provide hard-to-find items, generally associated with high manufacturer minimums & limited inventory turns, to electrical wire & cable distributors of all sizes. The partners started AZ as buyers of special constructions, overstocks & discontinued commodities by leveraging their strong relationships with wire & cable manufacturers.
